The LVTC research group welcomes the announcement of the University of Vigo that David Tizón-Couto has merited a five-year contract as distinguished senior researcher. The University of Vigo has drawn up 18 full-time contracts for senior “distinguished” researchers, a category envisaged by the Spanish legislation on science. The researchers hired under this strategy will have full teaching and research capabilities. The objective of this action is to ease the continuity of postdoctoral researchers in very competitive programmes such as Ramón y Cajal, Juan de la Cierva, etc. Formely a Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación postdoc, David Tizón-Couto has been promoted to distinguished senior researcher in this year’s call and this warrants his membership within the LVTC research team and within the institution.
