Violeta Miliun graduated from the University of Vilnius (Vilnius, Lithuania). She obtained an BA in Lithuanian and Spanish Philology (2013-2017). During these studies, she participated in the Erasmus+ programme in the University of León (2016). This academic experience inspired her interest in linguistics analysis and related matters. For her BA dissertation, she studied the composition in Lithuanian and Spanish languages, its differences and similarities.

Later, she started MA studies in Applied Linguistics (2017-2019) and wrote her MA dissertation about the code-switching used by young people in social networks. She participated in the XIII National Conference of Young Scholars “Linguistics and Literature Research” (Education Academy of Vytautas Magnus University, Vilnius, 2019) and in Social Sciences Forum (Moletai, 2019). After finishing her studies, she did an internship in Valencia, practicing her teaching language skills.

Currently, she is developing her PhD thesis under the supervision of Dr. Ana María Iglesias Álvarez and Dr. Miguel Cuevas Alonso (University of Vigo). The dissertation analyses linguistic behavior and attitudes of Lithuanian immigrants in various autonomous communities of Spain.
