Tolkien translated by Jorge L. Bueno

LVTC member, Jorge L. Bueno, has just published the first ever Spanish translation of JRR Tolkien’s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl and Sir Orfeo. The volume, edited by Minotauro in a bilingual edition, offers not only Tolkien's take on these three medieval poems but also the text of his groundbreaking conference on Sir Gawain he delivered at Glasgow University to honor W. P. Ker, and an appendix on Middle English Verse forms. The Spanish translations follow closely Tolkien’s prose and poetic style (maintaining alliteration, rhyme and lexical choices) and present 108 translation notes that deal with every problematic reference to give the reader a full account of the contents of the original volume in Spanish.
