Carla Míguez holds a BA in Translation and Interpretation [Spanish (L1) -English (L2), French (L3)] from the University of Vigo (2014), a MA in Teaching in Secondary Schools, Vocational Training Centers and Language Schools (Foreign Languages) and a MA in Occupational Risk Prevention, both from the University of Vigo (2015 and 2016). Carla is currently working on her PhD on the relationship between metacognitive abilities and reading comprehension in children aged 8-11 years old, under the supervision of Dr. Miguel Cuevas Alonso in the PhD program "Programa de Doutoramento en Estudos Lingüísticos" at the University of Vigo. In 2017 she received a two-year predoctoral grant from the University of Vigo and she was awarded the Academic Excellence Award within her PhD program.
Besides working with the Department of Spanish; since 2013 she collaborates with the Higher Technical Schools of Industrial Engineering of Vigo and La Rioja carrying out translation, data gathering and scientific production tasks.
Her research work include the publication of several articles related to educational innovation and linguistics in international and national magazines. She has also published some books and participated in several conferences on linguistics, education and educational innovation.
