Adriana Taboada González holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2014) and an MA in Advanced English Studies from the University of Vigo (2015).

For her MA dissertation, entitled "Gollum vs The Gollum: Ring-Bearing, Duality & Inner Conflict and their Narrative Centrality in J.R.R. Tolkien's (and Peter Jackson's) The Lord of the Rings" and supervised by Dr. Jorge L. Bueno Alonso, she analysed the figure of Gollum in Tolkien's work both as an inner monster in every character exposed to the One Ring and as a full character that is the one who finally saves the Middle-earth by destroying the precious object.

Adriana is currently working on her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Jorge L. Bueno Alonso at the University of Vigo, where she studies the inter-relationship and narrative development of Frodo, Sam and Gollum in The Lord of the Rings. In 2017 she was awarded a two-year predoctoral grant from the University of Vigo.
